About Marcel Feenstra

I was born and raised in Rotterdam, and I attended the Gymnasium Erasmianum in that city. At the age of sixteen, I went to Utrecht University to study Dutch language and literature, eventually obtaining a graduate degree in Comparative Literature.

During my undergraduate studies, I took a course in Computational Linguistics and became fascinated by computers; therefore, I started to study computer science in my spare time. I have worked in IT since the late nineteen eighties, first for a Dutch software house called Ordina, later as a freelance consultant.

In 1993, I got the opportunity to do a dual degree program in the United States. I received a MALD (Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy) from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts University) and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business (Dartmouth College).

Having finished both studies, I returned to the Netherlands in 1996. For two years, I worked for an American consulting firm; I then joined an Internet start-up as Chief Technology Officer. These days, I run an Internet Marketing consultancy called AfterImage Internet Marketing. I live in The Hague, together with my French wife and our two daughters.
